The ConceptMechTech’s apprenticeship is a unique and creative approach for developing a well rounded practical and educational experience in preparation for a career in the tooling and machining profession. This apprenticeship offers the apprentice the opportunity for both a State Registered Journeyworker’s Certificate, and an Associates Degree in manufacturing or mechanical engineering technologies. An apprentice is one who is learning a trade by practical experience under a skilled worker. Mech Tech achieves this by combining practical “hands on” experience and a related studies program at local colleges or universities. Areas of study includes training in physics, mathematics, technical writing, CNC, CAD, CAM, and the theoretical applications of manufacturing technologies. Our "hands on" training is accomplished by rotating the apprentices through our consortium of manufacturers on a 6 to 8 month cycle and exposing them to the daily work environments of precision machining, CNC manufacturing, and engineering/design for a total of 8,000 hours. |
